In addition to the about page, explore my professional biography.
I began my career as a travel consultant, became a corporate trainer in 1997, and was appointed IT & quality project manager in 2000.
From 2003 onwards, I directed profit centers (up to 100 people, €100M revenue) before venturing into entrepreneurship in 2012 as an entrepreneur and digital marketer, founding and directing the travel portal Lafranceamamesure.com for seven years.
Since 2019, I dedicate my experience in digital project leadership and marketing strategy to SMBs and growing enterprises.
Here is my professional career journey, summarized in key milestones. It outlines my experience and competencies. To learn more, feel free to visit my about page.
With my Tourism diploma, I was set to work as a travel consultant or operational specialist in the travel industry. I did so for several rewarding years at Wasteels and Protravel. Being naturally curious and reluctant to repeat processes mechanically, I developed a keen interest in software automation and organizational optimization.
A few years later, I joined Havas Voyages (American Express), becoming an IT & Quality Project Manager, a role in which I thrived. I led three core missions:
Enhance organizational workflows in the profit center to maximize productivity using IT systems.
Train staff and onboarding team members on software tools through structured instructional coaching.
Audit multi-segment airfares to prevent billing inaccuracies via advanced mastery of complex tariff structures (round-the-world itineraries, etc.).
Instead of moving through minor supervisory steps, I rapidly took command of major operations (100 staff members) distributed across multiple regional locations. Thriving under pressure and favoring bold, pragmatic solutions over rigid bureaucracy, I leveraged computing to turn my teams into innovation incubators and nurtured employee strengths to achieve outstanding results.
Throughout this tenure, I continuously evolved organizations to ensure peak efficiency in the fiercely competitive and turbulent Business Travel arena. I prioritized continuous team upskilling, transparent communication, and coaching tailored to individual talents.
After a decade, I launched my own startup, Lafranceamamesure, driven by my passion for entrepreneurship and calculated risk-taking.
Initially operating as a ROPO (Research Online Purchase Offline) travel agency, I pivoted the business model after a few months into a curated digital travel guide specializing in France. Two client segments were targeted:
Individual travelers: offering a free curated portfolio of themed, narrative-driven itineraries across France in French, English, and German. The business model relied on Search Engine Marketing (SEM), combining organic search (SEO) and digital advertising (SEA).
Foreign travel agencies and tour operators: crafting turnkey custom itineraries across France for clients in Russia, Singapore, Japan, etc., enabling them to power their online portals and printed brochures while resisting disintermediation.
I harnessed this immersive experience to master advanced digital marketing and web development techniques essential for tourism businesses, specifically:
Natural search engine optimization (SEO).
Search advertising on Google (SEA).
Social media advertising, especially on Facebook.
Affiliate monetization driven by qualified web traffic.
Google Analytics and Search Console to elevate the customer experience.
Curating thematic, narrative-driven travel copy to engage visitors.
The art of commercial negotiation.
UX and UI design to convert visitors into loyal clients.
Driven by passion rather than necessity, I taught myself to code in order to develop custom websites (such as the one you are browsing) and mobile applications. In 2018, I was selected by Google among 100,000 global applicants as one of 1,500 recipients of a full scholarship to learn Java in the Google Developer Challenge Scholarship program.
In late 2018, after seven fruitful years, I decided to step back and close operations, as further scaling required external equity financing that would conflict with personal commitments.
Since then, I deliver strategic consulting engagements as a project manager or digital marketing lead for SMBs, primarily in e-tourism and e-commerce. Key projects include:
Authoring technical specifications to win high-value RFPs.
Driving e-commerce sales growth by upskilling business owners through tailored coaching in Google Ads, Google Analytics, and SEO.
Directing digital marketing teams for major e-commerce brands.
Building a 3-year digital roadmap for a $5M tourism project in Quebec, securing public and private investor buy-in.
Achieving 95-100% Lighthouse scores to maximize user experience and SEO through refined coding standards.
