Author: Thierry P. Gaillard - Why LinkedIn is investing heavily in native newsletters
LinkedIn places major strategic importance on native newsletters as a long-form communication and community-engagement tool.
Launched in 2017, LinkedIn newsletters have accumulated more than 365 million subscriptions across the platform. Far more than a simple broadcast channel, they serve to share specialized expertise, spark meaningful discussions, and strengthen professional communities.
In fact, newsletter readership tripled over the past year, reaching 1.3 million daily readers.
To make the publishing experience even more rewarding, LinkedIn has rolled out several major new features:
- Create multiple newsletters: you are no longer restricted to a single publication. LinkedIn now allows creators and company pages to host up to five distinct newsletters, each with its own topic, branding, and publishing cadence—enabling you to target different segments of your audience with precision.
- Grow your follower base automatically: whenever a member subscribes to your newsletter, they now automatically follow your LinkedIn profile as well. This expands your overall follower community and increases the organic reach of your daily posts.
- Boost discoverability: to streamline newsletter sign-ups, an embedded "one-click subscribe" link lets readers subscribe directly from LinkedIn, external social networks, email signatures, or your website. Furthermore, your newsletter now appears prominently in LinkedIn search results, making it far easier for professionals to discover and subscribe.
If you haven't launched a LinkedIn newsletter yet, now is the ideal time. With these enhancements, LinkedIn makes the publishing experience smoother and more customizable while amplifying your reach and reader engagement.

Enhanced long-form publishing tools: rich media, layouts, and SEO
- Upgraded article editor: writing in-depth articles takes time and effort. To make the authoring workflow smoother, LinkedIn completely overhauled its publishing interface. The new editor is far more intuitive, offering richer text formatting, seamless multimedia embedding for images and videos, and improved layout options.
- Customization, scheduling, and SEO: you can now save multiple drafts and share preview links to gather feedback from colleagues before publishing. You can also schedule your article or newsletter issue to go live precisely when your community is most active. Finally, you can configure a custom SEO Title and meta description tag to maximize your article's visibility on external search engines like Google.
